Hey, welcome!

KNOW MY MOTIVATION

One of the major goals I wanted to accomplish was to be able to acquire insights on how European marine research projects create strategic approaches in providing solutions to socio-ecological problems. I do give more appreciation in science that helps vulnerable communities in this age in which global problems on marine ecosystems are more alarming.

I am from a country where people depend their daily food source and livelihood from coastal resources of different marine ecosystems like seagrass, mangroves, and coral reefs.

These communities are prone to the changing climate and modernization, which takes up space of their supposed livelihood source.

Although my professional practice was more on the technical skills, I think the major idea that resonated to me the most is the concept of 'spatial management planning'.

I learned the idea through the European Project Percebes about sustainable harvesting of barnacles. Even in a European setting, I think that sustainability and conservation science is a universal language, which is applicable to different parts of the world.

The experimental methods may differ but the strategies are similar. Learning the strategies is the core of it all.

THE QUESTION NOW

With the threatened coastal resources, how do we suppose to manage it to sustain our food supply?
